Latest Updates on the International Monitoring Committee Meeting, Presidential Election, and Government Formation in Lebanon!
Al-Jadeed TV has reported that the head of the U.S.-led committee monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement contacted Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, who is set to meet him on Thursday. The channel also stated that “the French member of the international monitoring committee will arrive in Lebanon tomorrow.”
Sources close to Speaker Berri confirmed that “the committee’s first meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday or Saturday in Naqoura.” They emphasized that “once the committee begins its sessions, ceasefire violations will become increasingly difficult and will be closely monitored.”
Additionally, Berri’s visitors stated, “Contrary to some expectations, the election of a new president of the republic will occur on January 9, and a government will be formed within the same month.”
